Here is how to move forward without blowing up what is working.
First, name what standing still is actually costing you. Be specific. A skill you have not touched, a raise you have not asked for, a conversation about growth you keep postponing. Vague unease cannot be acted on. A named cost can.
Second, pick one forward move that does not require quitting anything. A certification, a visible project, a direct ask. Small and real beats big and hypothetical, and it keeps your options open instead of closing them by default.
Third, set an actual deadline to reassess, not an open-ended someday. Three months, six months, whatever fits, but a real date on the calendar, not a vague intention to revisit it eventually.
Stability is not the same as stagnation. One protects you. The other just feels like it does, right up until it does not.
